Sir Terry, best known for his fantasy novels set in Discworld, sold over 85 million books worldwide in 37 different languages. He received an OBE in 2009 for his services to literature.
Sir Terry was born in Buckinghamshire on 28th April 1948 to parents David & Eileen Pratchett. He attended Wycombe Technical High School & at 16 began working for the Bucks Free Press as a regional journalist.
After becoming diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Sir Terry soon became a campaigner for “The Right To Die” & 4 years ago, took part in the BBC’s documentary “Choosing to Die”, which followed the story of Peter Smedley’s decision to go to Switzerland’s Dignitas clinic in order to commit suicide using a lethal dose of barbituates.
